My bizarre, sick, and destructive plot to topple the existing CCCR and achieve power was quickly discovered by the ever-vigilant club officers. Positing this website as genuine and shamefully airing dirty laundry was a hurtful betrayal perpetrated by a desperate, shallow, anti-chess traitor. People were mocked and humiliated. They deserved better.
I'm truly sorry and beset with grief over the pain my actions have caused. Time to confess, time to make things right. It was wrong of me to operate a website bearing an organization's name without authorization. That which rightfully belongs to the real Community Chess Club of Rochester should not adorn my site's masthead.
After being taken into custody and remanded to jail comes a hearing and court trial. If convicted, a sentence of incaration in state prison is likely. Probably do a "double nickle", two five-year terms served back-to-back. Maybe the prison chess club will be open on days I'm not resting or shot-calling. Hope I don't have to join a gang.
Interpol has jurisdiction over most World Wide Web (internet) cases. I wouldn't even understand the criminal charges because I don't speak French.
Ranting about dress codes and badges for club officers was also a mistake. Here, at the "People's Chess Club", the emphasis is on community spirit. Sharing and caring for people. Not blindly adhering to a cold, heartless set of sacrosanct US Chess "official" rules.
Transparency in club government is impractical and artificial. What club officers do is, by definition, what's best for the club. It is our good fortune that these talented people donate their time and energy to serve as club officers. If other members think they can do better, then let them run for office. Let the chips fall where they may.
I will therefore direct my web-hosting service to discontinue hosting this dreadful website in eight days. After the first Saturday of next month, probably around March 3rd, ownership of the "communitychessclub.com" domain will be transferred to the actual Community Chess Club as an act of contrition, after removal of all content which CCCR doesn't want.
A donation of $5,067.53 could defray their start-up costs for a new web server subscription. It would also allow them to pay their webmaster a handsome monthly stipend.
And, as the days dwindle down to a precious few, let us delete this errant bookmark in our lives and harken back to the charming old CCCR website. Enough already! Let the healing begin.
